President Louis Mussington, his first vice-president Alain Richardson and Senator Annick Pétrus, received this afternoon the members of the citizen movement “Road safety in Saint-Martin”.
President Louis Mussington indicated through an official press release last week, his will and that of his executive to take up issues related to the safety of road users.
Several subjects were discussed, in particular the strengthening of controls within the framework of the partnership between the gendarmerie and the territorial police, for which the new coordination agreement will be finalized before the end of June.
Field work, in particular raising awareness among young people with the help of associations and neighborhood councils, is a major point for the community.
The community already subsidizes the associations intervening in particular on these issues.

Rehabilitation of roads and modernization of public lighting is a priority for the majority. Public contracts are currently being prepared to respond concretely to these issues.
The community wishes to discuss these questions within the CLSPD by relaunching thematic working groups.
Awareness through the family rights council run by the CLSPD will also be initiated. This system makes it possible to support families and inform them of the rules in force.
The president praised the quality of the exchanges, contact will be maintained with all the citizens’ committees in order to move forward hand in hand in the service of the population.

Le président Louis Mussington, son premier vice-président Alain Richardson et la sénatrice Annick Pétrus, ont reçu cet après-midi les membres du mouvement citoyen “Sécurité routière à Saint-Martin”.
Le président Louis Mussington a indiqué à travers un communiqué de presse officiel la semaine dernière, sa volonté et celle de son exécutif de se saisir des questions liées à la sécurité des usagers de la route.
Plusieurs sujets ont été abordés, notamment le renforcement des contrôles dans le cadre du partenariat gendarmerie / police territoriale, dont la nouvelle convention de coordination sera finalisée avant la fin du mois de juin

Le travail de terrain, en particulier la sensibilisation des jeunes avec l’aide des associations et des conseils de quartier, est un point majeur pour la collectivité.
La collectivité subventionne déjà les associations intervenant notamment sur ces questions.
La réfection des routes et de la modernisation de l’éclairage public est prioritaire pour la majorité. Des marchés publics sont actuellement en préparation pour répondre concrètement à ces problématiques.
La collectivité souhaite débattre de ces questions au sein du CLSPD en relançant des groupes de travail thématiques.
La sensibilisation à travers le conseil des droits des familles animé par le CLSPD sera aussi initiée.
Ce dispositif permet d’accompagner les familles et de les informer des règles en vigueur.
Le président a salué la qualité des échanges, un contact sera maintenu avec l’ensemble des comités citoyens afin d’avancer main dans la main au service de la population.
