We do not condone police brutality or violence, but someone should have taught him the difference between Curaçao police and every other police on earth.

Rapper travels with falsified PCR test and gets hit when arrested in Curacao

The Dutch rapper Josylvio was arrested on Tuesday at the airport of Curacao. He would have traveled with a fake PCR test. All travelers from the Netherlands must be able to show a negative PCR test at Curacao airport. The corona test must not be older than 72 hours. The rapper’s arrest was brutal and was filmed by a bystander.

In the video you can see that a cop tries to stop someone, but that person just keeps walking. An altercation then ensues in which the policeman deals serious blows and the ‘walker’ is pushed to the ground and then arrested.

According to bystanders this would be Josylvio. He allegedly abused several officers. The artist’s management has not yet responded

NOS:

Rapper Josylvio arrested at Curaçao airport

The Dutch rapper Josylvio was arrested last night at the airport of Curaçao. The Curaçao police confirm this to the ANP news agency this evening, following reports in Curaçao media.

It was previously reported that the 29-year-old artist, whose real name is Joost Dowib, had been arrested for traveling with a falsified PCR test. According to the police, it was an arrest for insulting and disturbing public order.

Josylvio was, however, refused entry to the island after arriving on Curaçao, because his travel documents were not in order. It is unclear whether it was the PCR test.

Police said the rapper was “very rude” to airport staff after being denied entry. He also allegedly made threats. On images of youtuber Fawry not Sawry shows that Josylvio gets hit hard by a policeman. The artist was presented to a public prosecutor after the arrest, it is unclear whether he is still in custody.

Josylvio received the Edison in 2020 for the Hip-Hop category. He was one of the most streamed Dutch artists on Spotify that year.

RTL:

The police confirm that he has indeed been arrested and is now placed with the criminal investigation department of Curaçao. He’s still stuck there. “We are now investigating and the questioning is ongoing.”

Images of the arrest are said to be circulating on social media. It shows that the detainee is first beaten by an officer. It is not clear whether it concerns Josylvio.

Josylvio’s management could not be reached for comment on Thursday.

Josylvio is one of the most popular rappers in the country. He has scored several number 1 hits in the Single Top 100 in recent years. His album ‘Hella Cash’ became the most sold and streamed record of the year in 2018.
