The Collectivity cleans the large gullies

The Collectivity of Saint-Martin began, Tuesday, September 21, 2021, the cleaning of the gullies. The service provider company started with the great ravine of Spring-Concordia. Considerable work has been done in this area to allow the water to flow. The main gullies of the territory will be cleaned in the coming days. This work will be completed early next week.

Mowing and cleaning operation of main and secondary roads

Since Tuesday, September 21, the Collectivity has been mowing the sideways of the roads. The main axes are cleaned as a priority in the sectors of Bellevue, the Terres Basses road, to the northeast of the island towards Oyster Pond Coralita. The Savane sector will be cleaned up on Saturday September 25. Secondary roads will also be maintained next week. In the presence of the mowing vehicle, slow down and be vigilant.
The Collectivity also cleans and removes waste after each mowing operation. The Bellevue road has been cleaned in recent hours. It was littered with garbage (cans – plastic bottles, etc.). Motorists are asked to show good citizenship and not to throw their waste out of vehicle windows.

Disposal of green and bulky waste

In a hurricane period, the Collectivité of Saint-Martin reminds citizens that bulky items and green waste should be placed on the side of the roads, near the collective trash bins reserved for household waste.
• Bulky items are collected every evening from 11:00 p.m., 7 days a week.
• The collection of green waste takes place every evening, from Monday to Saturday, from 11:00 pm.
• Household waste, to be placed in closed garbage bags then in the orange and gray collective bins, is collected every evening from 11:00 pm.
The public is asked to drop off waste from 6:00 p.m. to avoid nuisance during the day.

Traders asked to evacuate their packaging to recycling centers

Traders are indeed requested to remove their packaging and bulky boxes to waste collection centers, in accordance with the regulations in force.

As a reminder: Unauthorized dumping of household waste, bulky waste and green waste are prohibited by law (Article L. 541-3 of the Environment Code). The Environment Brigade is in charge of the fight against incivility: wild posters, illegal deposits, noise pollution, insalubrity.
