Monday 23rd 2022, Curacao’s President Parliament, Mrs Charetti American-Francisca received her counterpart, Sint Maarten President of Parliament, Mrs Grisha Heyliger-Marten, along with Griffier Mr Garrick Richardson. The delegation with islands sisters. The visit coincides with the installation the President of Common Court and Justice Court.

During the visit Mrs Grisha Heyliger-Marten gave a record of the Parliament building, including an extensive explanation of its archive system. Also the president and secretary discussed several topics, both entities face, that is dealt with daily in Parliament. And discussions which serve to, even more, intensify and relate the work and continue to sustain others and work for the welfare of the people.

On Monday, May 23, 2022, the President of Parliament, Mrs. Grisha S. Heyliger-Marten, arrived in Curaçao to attend the installation sitting of the new President of the Joint Court of Justice to be held on May 25, 2022.

During her stay in Willemstad, Curaçao, the President of Parliament, Mrs. Heyliger-Marten, took the opportunity to pay a courtesy visit to the Prime Minister of Curaçao, Mr. Gilmar Pisas and the U.S. Consul General to Curaçao and Chief of Mission to Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao, Saba, Sint Eustatius, and Sint Maarten, Ms. Margy Bond.

The President also paid a courtesy visit to the Parliament of Curaçao, where she was welcomed by the President of Parliament of Curaçao, Mrs. Charetti America-Francisca and the Secretary General, Mr. Silvin Cijntje. Secretary General Cijntje gave a tour of the buildings of the Parliament and the

President of Parliament, Mrs. Heyliger-Marten, was able to look in the archives of the Parliament of Curaçao that dates back to the times of the Netherlands Antilles. A draft budget of the Island Territory of Sint Maarten of 2010 was also briefly perused. The Presidents and Secretaries General also took the opportunity to discuss the workings of their respective Parliaments while looking at best practices that can positively affect the functioning of the Parliaments.
