Good morning I tried taking the week off so here is ALL INFO SO FAR MP BRISON VS.. ERRBODY

UD denounces actions of MP Brison and calls for his immediate resignation

Upon hearing the recent audio of Member of Parliament (MP) Rolando Brison, the United Democrats (UD) Board swiftly reacted, stating that “this should not surprise anyone, as MP Brison continues to exude narcissistic traits and clearly lacks even a basic understanding of the responsibilities of a leader, especially of the public office of President of Parliament,” the UD said in a press statement on Saturday evening.

The UD statement continued: “This is in the opinion of the UD Board “vintage Rolando” and this behavior should not be tolerated.  It’s disgusting to hear the president of parliament insult and ridicule members of parliament in a most objectionable manner. His explanation for this embarrassment is neither here or there and only shows his utter disdain for the public trust he holds.

“To berate his own faction leader in such a manner is bad enough, but to boastingly refer to his dealings with coalition ministers and his pledging to third parties have hit a new low, even for him. This behavior only shows callous disdain for anyone not in the president’s inner and complicit circle. He has smeared the name of his coalition partners and his party members, and it leaves one to wonder what and who are behind these discussions, of which only one has been made public. How come such answers were not provided in the president’s explanation of the audio?

“It’s not important if and why someone would set MP Brison up, which is according to the MP.  What is scary are the boastful and sinister insinuations from the mouth of the President of Parliament.  This does not sound like any isolated or heated discussion. Very evident though was the level of confidence and boastfulness in MP Brison’s expletive-laden tirade.  Whatever the reason for putting this audio out, fact is that it reveals a most disturbing and worrisome picture.

“It is high time in the opinion of the   UD board that all representatives in parliament denounce this behavior and take action.”

In the UD’s board release, the MP of the UD faction and party leader, Sarah Wescot interjected: “I emphatically denounce this behavior and strongly feel that the President of Parliament has lost all credibility and should do the honorable thing by resigning and saving the people of St. Maarten from further embarrassment. We, the people are guided by a moral compass according to what in our view is acceptable or not. This behavior of a member of parliament is most certainly not, from whichever angle it is taken. Worse yet, if this person holds the Chairmanship and thereby represents the entire parliament.”

👀USP calls on MP Brison to resign immediately
👀The board of the United St. Maarten (US) party has called on Chairperson of Parliament MP Rolando Brison to resign immediately as President of Parliament and not further shame and embarrass the country. The board also called on all factions in Parliament to show the people of St. Maarten that their highest body stands for integrity and end the soap opera antics of MP Brison and the consequences which St. Maarten suffers.

“Enough is enough,” the board said on the heels of a video that has circulated all over the world of Brison denigrating MP Grisha Heyliger-Marten, boldly talking about deals with just certain people in the National Alliance, his coalition partner, dismissing Parliament’s instructions to Minister of VROMI Egbert Doran by stating that the Minister will grant the land at Over The Bank anyway, and “very disturbingly” referring to permits as if they are on sale with the coalition.

“The President of Parliament has added legitimacy to every negative thing the Dutch and other have to say or assume about politicians on St. Maarten, while we know all should not be painted with the same brush. His actions as the Chairperson of our highest governing body is unacceptable, lacks integrity, irresponsible and callous,” the USP board said, adding that the fact that MP Brison has allegedly dismissed the recording as a “moment of anger”, speaks volumes to his character.

The board further questioned how much more of MP Brison’s antics will the current government tolerate. “This government and to an extent this Parliament, seems to be comfortable with apologies. MP Brison interferes with controllers doing their jobs, he skips IPKO to attend club parties with celebrities, he contacts Coharis Law Groups on his own putting members of Parliament in compromising positions, he circumvents the country’s pandemic protocols so that friends in the night life sector can operate and on and on.”

“When do integrity and the reputation of the country and our governing bodies trump apologies? These things have become habitual for MP Brison because nobody holds him accountable. An apology or some flimsy explanation this time should not suffice. The words were uttered from his mouth. MP Brison should resign as President of Parliament immediately and the United People (UP) party has to decide if that’s the kind of representation the people of St. Maarten deserves and the party wants to represent,” the US board concluded.

Remember when I told y’all Grisha was low IQ? Now, MP Grisha Marten is tryna get rid of MP Brison…

MP Grisha Heyliger-Marten Roundly Condemns Taped Remarks by President of Parliament Brison

Faction leader of the United People’s Party (UP) in Parliament, Grisha Heyliger-Marten has strongly condemned the statements by her party leader, President of Parliament Rolando Brison in a recording which has gone viral on the island over the weekend.

In the recording, Brison can be heard making derogatory remarks about Heyliger-Marten in company of some unidentified persons, while shredding the motions passed recently by Parliament giving specific instructions to the Minister of VROMI, Egbert Jurendy Doran regarding a proposed housing project.

“I am very disappointed and highly offended by his remarks,” MP Heyliger-Marten said. “It doesn’t make it less offensive that they were made in a so-called moment of anger.”

“The remarks are very unbecoming of the leader of the second largest political party on the island and of a president of parliament,” she said.

“It is an affront to me as an individual and as a member of parliament. It is also disrespectful against me as a woman and against St. Maarten women in general,” MP Heyliger-Marten further added. “And surely it is a blatant disrespect to the founder and all members of the party he leads.”

Finally, she said, “it is embarrassing to our nation, to all members of parliament and especially to the youth of this island who need positive role models.”

“It is now up to the UP board to decide how to deal with this toxic situation,” she added.

President of Parliament Brison Apologizes for calling MP Grisha Heyliger-Marten ‘STUPID’.

“A recording of me speaking, some of which in the privacy of my own home, in a moment of frustration, has been released by some unscrupulous individuals who have taken my already really poor choice of words, much of which was edited them to fit their political narrative and agenda,” President of Parliament Rolando Brison said on Sunday evening in a statement.
“First, I take full responsibility for my actions, and I regret the comments made. Despite making these comments in a moment of frustration, I must take responsibility for making them and the fact that they have hurt a colleague. MP Grisha Heyliger-Marten has done nothing but work tirelessly sometimes against tremendous great opposition internationally and locally, to bring about equality and fairness within the Netherlands Kingdom for the people of St. Maarten.
“She has almost singlehandedly brought to the forefront the fact that the promise of Self Determination as agreed to by The Netherlands is nowhere near completed for the Caribbean Dutch Islands. Her determination and drive to ensure better Pension and treatment for our Senior Citizens and to see TelEm workers get better representation are amongst some of her great accomplishments for which I am proud to be her colleague.
“As a woman, her efforts to stamp out inequality are unparalleled, and she has consistently defended those persons in our community who have been left without proper representation for too long. In this respect, she very much reminds me of my own mother. Whenever we do things that hurt individuals close to us, the obvious thing to do is to say I am sorry.
“As President of Parliament, I represent a group of individuals who, like me, were elected by the people to serve. This Parliament is under my chairmanship on a path to deliver great legislation in the interest of improving the quality of lives of our people.
“As the leader of one of the largest political parties founded by one of the greatest political minds to serve the people of St. Maarten, I also recognize that my actions have negatively affected our party. We came together under my leadership when many counted the UP Party out, against many odds, during the last election to not only garner 4 seats, but to also form what is now the longest lasting government in the history of country St. Maarten. It’s unfortunate that my moment of frustration has affected some who have helped us stay together for country St. Maarten, but I will continue to work to make sure we remain focussed on that goal: 4 years of effective government and parliamentary work.
“One of the traits of a great leader is the ability to say when they are wrong. I pledge to work tirelessly to be even more deserving of your forgiveness and trust. St. Maarten is my home, and its people are my family. Families bicker at times and heated words are exchanged. Unfortunately, my words were made public, without me having an opportunity to address them to my colleagues/family in private and resolve the challenges we faced.
“We since met as UP Board, Ministers and MP’s and identified the areas where this family needs to improve its communication and conflict resolution. I will be working over the next few days, weeks, and months, at the direction and guidance of the Board and Party to regain their trust. I know this will not be an easy task, but I am committed to continuing the good work that we have been doing as a United People’s Party and I will do my utmost to restore the balance of trust with my colleague MP Heyliger-Marten.
“I extend my apology to all who my words have hurt, and I ask the board and founder of the UP Party, my colleague MP’s and especially MP Heyliger-Marten along with the people of St. Maarten to accept my apology or my indiscretion.”
